Directions and Advice

If it’s your first time coming to Shenzhen, then don’t hesitate. This guide will help with transportation, directions, and accommodation. 

Shenzhen Valley Ventures’s Address

Zowee Technology Building , PingShan Science & Technology park , Pingshan 1st RD, Xili, Nanshan district, Shenzhen. If you want to take a taxi (when you’ve crossed the border into Shenzhen) show the driver this Chinese address.

Shenzhen Airport to Shenzhen Valley Ventures

Taking the metro (35 minutes): This is the most convenient way of travelling to us. Take airport metro Line 11 – change at Qianhaiwan station to Line 5 (there will be many signs within the metro to help you navigate from line 11 to line 5) once on line 5 travel to University Town station.  Another way to travel from Shenzhen Airport to us is by taxi. Just show the taxi driver this address (same as above):   深圳市南山区西丽平山民企科技园5栋卓翼科技大厦 Be aware that only the Red & Blue taxis have access everywhere in Shenzhen (not the green ones)

Hong Kong Airport to Shenzhen Valley Ventures

 

Futian Checkpoint 

Metro (train) ( 1.5 Hours ) 

From Hong Kong Airport travel to Lok Ma Chau station (HK) then from here follow the signs for Futian check point. Once you pass border control you can then take the Shenzhen metro line 4 to Shenzhen North Station and change to metro line 5 which will take you to University Town. Huangang Checkpoint 

The Skylimo (30 minutes) Our recommendation is to go for the Skylimo ($16 USD). You will share a mini van with others, taking you from HK airport to Huangang Port (Shenzhen). The video below will give you more insight into how to take the Skylimo.

Shekou Checkpoint 

The Ferry (30 minutes) You also have the option to take the ferry from Hong Kong airport directly to Shekou (Shenzhen). Please see guide for more information on this HERE.   Please keep in mind that majority of the time you will go through TWO checkpoints when entering Shenzhen. ONE will be a checkpoint for you LEAVING Hong Kong, SECOND will be for ARRIVING in China. Please be aware of the correct visa needed to enter China, it is always best to have your visa approved BEFORE entering China.

Accommodation

Vienna Hotel This hotel is certainly our main recommendation. It is less than a minute walk from our office, the price is affordable (around $60 USD/Night), and it’s a relaxing stay. Click HERE for more information.           The Westin Hotel If you’re feeling more comfort but still close by to our office, then we recommend the Westin Hotel. It is only a 20 minute taxi ride from our office. Click HERE for more information.       Coco Park Coco Park is part of the Futian district in Shenzhen, very close to the Hong Kong border, and in between from our office. Around this area has a more Western feeling. Here is a lot of architecture, hot spots, and a great nightlife. You may want to book a hotel around this area to experience Shenzhen. About 35 minutes taxi ride form our office. Click HERE to find hotels.    

Transportation

Transportation is something that not many people are too concerned with, however, will come across this issue along the way, especially in China. There are many ways to travel around Shenzhen, and they are all affordable and easy to navigate.

Shenzhen Taxis

Majority of the time taxi drivers are not able to speak/ understand English, so we recommend you download the DIDI app (Scan the QR code below). However, we will have location cards prepared for your arrival with English & Chinese words Word of warning, whenever you arrive/ travel in Shenzhen please be aware that there will be many people asking you if you want a ‘taxi’. Ignore these people, taxi drivers DO NOT stand on the street asking you if you need a taxi ride. ONLY use the designated taxi stands and/or official looking taxis. Scan these QR codes to download the DIDI app, this app is very useful and uses the same functions as Uber.  

Shenzhen Metros

Shenzhen’s metro is a very cheap and efficient way of getting around the city. The only problem is the limited English texts, however, the station names are mostly bi-lingual so as long as you plan your trip, it’s very convenient to get around. and we recommend you download ExploreMetro App. Download for: IOS Download for: ANDROID
