As we begin delving into the world of technology it is good to grasp a good understanding of the different types of technology, more importantly, there are 7 types of technology which I will go through, one by one, and give you an explanation into each of the 7 types of technology.

Construction technology is a collection of many innovative tools and machinery used during construction. These types of technology used during construction can be mobile technology, drone technology, and building information monitoring.  

Manufacturing technology

One of the most impressive types of technology is in the manufacturing industry. We see a huge surge in automated machinery capable of producing 100’s of thousands of products (a.k.a your smartphone) in just a few hours. We have come very far in the manufacturing industry. Medical technology

Where would we be without the extreme advancements in medical technology? Medical technology is a very important aspect of the 7 types of technology. Medical technology is vastly reliant on innovation to sustain health. We are seeing a huge rise in startup companies entering into the medical technology space.

Energy power technology

Discussing the 7 types of technology we must include transportation technology. Transportation technology is ultimately finding solutions to improve the movement of goods and services. Although we are still a long way from automated transportation, there is a steady incline in new technologies able to support this new era in transportation technology.

Agriculture technology

Agriculture technology is technology focusing on improving overall farming output. Agriculture technology is using sophisticated solutions to solve agricultural issues. We have transitioned from the daily physical hard labor to technologies such as drones, robotics, and temperature and moisture sensors. 

Biotechnology 

Understandably biotechnology is an area that stays out of the news. Mainly because biotechnology is the development of biological systems that focus on living organisms. We are seeing incredible advances in biotechnology with companies such as Crispr being able to sequence and ‘program’ living DNA, something never been done before.

As you can see there are many types of technology that all rely heavily on innovation. As a startups company it can be difficult to enter into these types of technology as the majority of them require large amounts of time and investment.
